GUI-based configuration tools for FH-1 now available

Newly available for the FH-1 USB MIDI Host module are a couple of GUI-based configuration tools, removing the need to write scripts by hand and mess about in the terminal to process them.

FH-1 firmware v1.6 released

Firmware version 1.6 for the FH-1 module is now released. This adds a number of new features, including release velocity and trigger support in the MIDI/CV converters, the ability to step through presets with trigger inputs, and support for loading configuration scripts via SysEx.

disting mk3 firmware v3.7 released

Version 3.7 of the disting mk3 firmware is now released. This adds software emulation of the ES-1 and ES-2 modules, a new 'favourites' mechanism, and various other enhancements and fixes.

All macOS plug-ins & Licence Manager updated

All macOS plug-ins (AU, VST & AAX) and the Licence Manager have been updated for compatibility with macOS 10.12 'Sierra'.

The only changes are related to the licensing system. When updating to the new plug-in versions, you must also update, and run at least once, the Licence Manager.

macOS 10.12 'Sierra'

Expert Sleepers software is not yet compatible with the new macOS 10.12 'Sierra'. Please do not update at this time. New, compatible, releases are expected very soon.

ES-8 to launch at Synthfest

Augustus Loop v2.4.5 (Windows x64) released

Augustus Loop v2.4.5 has been released. Only the Windows 64 bit VST has been updated.

This releases fixes a possible crash when closing the plug-in UI on recent versions of Windows.

disting mk3 firmware v3.6 released

Version 3.6 of the disting mk3 firmware is now released. This is mainly a maintenance release to fix a couple of issues, but some small new features are also added.

Version 3.5 of the disting mk3 firmware is now released. In addition to some important bug fixes for the SD playback modes, this version adds a new Bit Crusher algorithm.

Version 3.4 of the disting mk3 firmware is now released. This adds MIDI file playback (from SD card) modes, as well as significant improvements to the audio file playback features. It also adds algorithms for interfacing Eurorack with Buchla standard synths.

Silent Way v2.5.4 is released.

Changes in this version:
• Fixed crash when starting the DAW transport if the SW Step LFO Beats parameter was set to zero.

disting mk3 firmware v3.3 now released

Version 3.3 of the disting mk3 firmware is now released, adding the much anticipated SD card audio playback feature. Three sample playback algorithms are provided, offering various sample selection, pitch and retriggering options.

This update also adds two other new algorithms - a vocoder, and a version of the precision adder algorithm with fractional voltage offsets. The latter is largely intended to make it simple to achieve semitone offsets when processing pitch CVs.

Squinky Labs disting firmware now mk2 compatible

Squinky Labs (Bruce Frazer & Lloyd Cole) have updated ThisThing - their complete alternative firmware for the disting module - to support the disting mk2.

Spectral Conquest v1.0.5 (VST versions) released

Spectral Conquest v1.0.5 (Mac OS X and Windows VST versions only) is released. This update fixes a problem where the plug-in settings would not be restored properly after saving and reloading a song in the DAW.

USAMO plug-in v1.0.9 (Windows VST) released

A new version of the USAMO software is now available, v1.0.9. This update is for Windows VST versions only, and fixes a possible crash when closing the plug-in UI under recent versions of Windows.

Licence Manager v1.2.0 now available

The Expert Sleepers Licence Manager tool has been updated to v1.2.0. This version allows users to deactivate their licences themselves before transferring them to another machine, which previously could only be done by Expert Sleepers admin.

At NAMM ’16 we’ll be showing the new firmware v3.2 for the disting mk3 module, to be released immediately after the show.

New features include
- a clockable ping pong delay effect.
- 10 envelope generator algorithms, including clockable envelopes, dual envelopes and combined envelopes/VCAs.
- quantised and unquantized random voltage generators.
- random trigger generators.

We’ll also be showing an experimental new firmware version that allows WAV file playback from the MicroSD card slot normally used for firmware updates.

FH-1 firmware v1.5 showing at NAMM

At NAMM ’16 we’ll be showing the new firmware v1.5 for the FH-1 USB MIDI host module, to be released immediately after the show.

New features include
- new glide and gate length parameters for the built-in sequencers.
- portamento support for the MIDI/CV converters.
- per-device support in configuration scripts, allowing different configurations to be selected automatically when different MIDI devices are connected.
- front panel settings can be changed and menu actions can be performed via MIDI.
